I am still working on adding all of my work to my Etsy shop.. I took a little break and am getting back on the horse.. and of course, I keep making work. These pieces are something new that I am trying....

Basically, I am taking original works and running them through photo shop .. some a little ... some a lot.. then I have them printed... and then I take the prints and draw on them with pen.. I like the idea of taking an original work... making something in duplicate and then returning it back into an original...

I only have like one fancy frame ... hence the repetition of the frame.. if I sell enough work I might one day invest in another fancy frame.. one day....

I am adding more work to my online shop-- I took a break because I got discouraged... but I have to keep going so I can get every work of art sorted and put out there.

These little paintings are about 5" x 5" and are oil on gallery wrapped canvas.. if you are interested in these or any of my other things check out my etsy shop . I have way too much work.. it is getting a bit depressing since I am now realizing how much I still have.. it would be nice if they all found homes.

In my quest to add every piece of my artwork on my etsy shop- I keep coming across many unfinished pieces and pieces of pieces.... These artworks happened when I found some unfinished pieces of pieces...

..I had made a bunch of small pen drawings of little creatures and scenes on translucent paper... near them I saw some embroidery floss... so I decided to do something with them.....

..and ended up with some small mixed media works... they involve drawing, painting and sewing and the base is watercolor paper... I have added them to my shop ... so click here to check them out and all of the other works... 195 works so far and a bunch more to addd... I am so slow.. because I hate taking photos of them... and I am going through every drawer and box.. and there are many boxes and drawers and piles of work in the closet.. but it is cool.. because sometimes I find something that wasn't complete and I can complete it along the way.

Today I decided to see how my work looks in frames.. I kind of like the fancy gilded frame.....

This dark frame does not photo well.. but I didn't have a fancy gilded frame for the larger pieces.. but anyway, I love making this kind of work.. it is basically creating a drawing and then painting a board- making a background and environment for the drawing to exist...

so I have a bunch of these.. I started them in the cabin in the woods when I had very little room... they have been good art to create for someone who has no room and moves around a lot.. but now I have tons of room ... and I still want to make this type of work..

I am thinking of trying some steampunk type drawings like this.. it gives a little bit of color.. or a lot of color..

.. and of course, I have added these to my online shop.. so you can get them there.. they are pretty awesome.. and I am getting close to 200 works of art.. still tons in the studio.. and the closet.. the garage... drawers.. it is everywhere... but check out my etsy shop here. ... I need to move some of this art ... it has taken over the house... I have piles of drawings that I will probably be cutting up to create more mixed media pieces like these.. I should prolly get some more gilded frames too... they make everything so fancy.

After grad school, I moved to E TN and lived in a tiny cabin in the woods... it was so tiny that it had just one room, a microscopic kitchen and a teeny bathroom.... I used a fold up T.V. tray to set by the bed as a dining table, writing table and it was my studio as well.... I had to go out to do laundry... I used to hate it, but I grew to love it.... it provided me with a new studio... the laundry studio... I had already been drawing walking trailers and cabins... but the laundromat inspired me to introduce washing machines and dryers into the mix....

..so when I went to do laundry I made little pen drawings of walking and melting washers and dryers... and brought them home and set up my TV tray studio and painted boards to make backgrounds and environments for them... I loved the mix of drawing and painting....

..sometimes I didn't have laundry to do... so I let TV inspire me (I had free cable at the time) ... and this piece happened when I was watching Dirty Jobs... he was pulling weird things from the ocean.. the water was not too deep.. I don't know what they were... really weird tube things.. he pulled them out and they cooked them... I would not eat one.. they were hideous and alien looking.. so I made my version of them... mine is not as hideous though... I have added all these works to my shop... you can find these works in my shop by clicking here .. I have 186 art pieces now... still adding them daily.. too much art.

Still adding work to my online shop- I try and add a few everyday... this piece was from a political/news show I was in .. see the fox tail?.....

This piece I created due to my love of mobile homes and cabins... the bottom is red coral that was meant for jewelry making.. when I was living in the mountains I was really interested in craft and using craft supplies in painting...

..and while in the mountains I was totally inspired by a striped spider so many things began to have stripes in them.. I did several of these drawings... all nature inspired...

I love to draw out of the matting and sometimes onto the frame.. this whole group has been placed in my shop... you can see the shop by clicking here. I still have a lot of work to add... going through boxes .. finding pieces that no one has ever been shown.. got to sell something since I can't find a job to save my life.. this adding work to my shop began in desperation, but is turning out to be a good way to see everything that I have .. so far there are over 180 pieces. phew.

... still adding all of my work to my etsy shop - this painting is one of my project fifty-two pieces - it is of a dog at the Miami Dade Animal Services.....

but not all the dog art I do is about shelter dogs.. I sometimes make little drawings like this toy fox terrier...

and this boston terrier... these are also in my shop now.... I had a friend over last weekend and they wanted to see my work.... I realized how disorganized I am.... I just found a whole box of work after she left... well more like 3 boxes.... but that is part of why I am adding them all to my shop-- stupid to keep them in boxes and not be able to find them.... so check out my shop here and pass it on to your friends.. because right now I have almost 170 pieces and keep adding more and I don't want to end up on Hoarders - the Artist Edition... so I hope someone will buy some and help me clean out my home.....

I'm still adding work to my etsy shop ... this painting is from my thesis show- basically, after the show, I had to move for a job and most of my work ended up in storage- for a long time... so it is nice to get this work seen - somewhere...

I'm going through what I am referring as my Striped Wiener Period... since I am making art that is heavily laden with dachshunds and stripes.

It is not all wiener though.. I try something new everyday.. but I am liking making some of these smaller and more fun pieces.

I am still in the process of adding all of my work to my shop.. like this painting which is a mix of acrylic painting and drawing.. I was inspired by an amazing spider I saw once with striped legs - and plants- and the muscle of my dog's leg...

This work began when I spied some tiny bowling pins in my studio.. it is in my shop also... you can see it and all of the other work by clicking here. I have now 156 works of art on there.. I might be nuts, but on one hand it is nice to go through everything- but I am tired - and have slowed down a lot... I think that is how the Striped Wiener Period began.. I needed to make art that I can do between cleaning, organizing and listing works.. wieners inspire me like that.

I'm inspired by a variety of things from carnivorous plants like the pitcher plant...

and log cabins and mobile homes....

and sometimes strange dreams and landscapes....

I just put some legs on them... sometimes some wheels

and that is about it.... these are more original works of art that I have added to my online shop. I am now up to about 143? pieces in my store.. there is still a ton of work that needs to be loaded.. a lot of walking things and odd things.

Still adding work to my shop .. added some of the works I made dealing with cancer...

I really hated cancer treatment.. but I like some of the work that came out of it...

totally non cancer related I also do art with animals- mainly dogs and cats....

and I have a whole bundle of work about animal shelter dogs/cats. (you can check that out on my other blog project fifty-two) I am currently up to 137 pieces of art and there is a ton more.

I love to combine drawing and painting and had miro in my veins...

So I was doing some cleaning and I found some small square boards... so I drew on them... I was going to just paint them in solid... I wanted to make small paintings that could be done in an hour-- but I couldn't control myself and hours later this is what I came up with. They all have the same color pallet ... the last photo is especially bad.. it is a little more orange than it shows.

I am currently working on some walking trailer pieces because I can't get the idea of walking mobile homes out of my mind.. I blame that on East TN... one cool thing was that I recently saw some very cool mobile home looking houses up on stilts down in Everglades City.. I will try and post a link to one if I can find them again... they are so cool- I want one.

Sometimes I just get an intense desire to do a quick drawing and get weirdo ideas out of my head. I had gone through a 2 day phase of being obsessed with cactus squid -- it made sense at the time. The little guy in the boat- well that came from picking up a conch and the odd little eyes popped out.. I just like those little eyes on sticks. I think this actually could be an interesting painting.... but I doubt I will ever paint it.

An artist named Elena Mary Siff gave me a link to animoto and I created a short video using them. I have been wanting to play on Youtube for some time, but I am frightened of video making. (really, I have no idea what to do) .. so through them, I was able to make something short- yet groovy. Check it out HERE! "Everything seemed ok, until.." Version 1.2

I had added some color, and was thinking about stopping.. but it was not enough

So I just finished another digital hybrid piece. I took this one from my original postcard sized drawing entitled "Everything seemed ok, until...". I believe that I will have various versions of this one over time so I decided calling them "versions" to signify that there are changes in the works. I, of course, was inspired by all the 'version' this and 'version ' that in regards to programs.

There are a few reasons that I have become interested in working digitally. Of course, there is the desire to try new things and push my work to be more than it has been. But, there is also the idea of the preciousness of art. This last summer, I had a flood in my bedroom and studio. It was horrible and I ended up having to throw many supplies and works out. That experience has had me thinking about how easily things can be lost and the price put upon them. In experimenting digitally with my 'precious' drawings I am allowing them to exist in a different form and in the even of another disaster - they will be safe in one form or another! Also, the idea of the preciousness pushes me to digitally destroy some of the details in the drawings that I was so proud of. I can smudge and color and add pixels to my drawings.

One last thing in regards to the price of art. I have enjoyed selling work to people who have paid a lot for a painting (I especially like those sales in that they help me pay my car payments). One of my favorite sales was one in where I sold a small drawing to a farmer in overalls. I loved it. I loved that a working "class" person in overalls bought one my drawings! Being from small town Iowa, I know that farmers are not the biggest buyers of art. So, in creating digital works I make my work more available to people. People a little more like myself. Doing this also allows people to invest in my work and not feel that they have to buy a million dollar frame to hang it in. In fact, I really like some of the ideas in this article on Etsy about ways to hang work and I thought I should link it for you.

I have decided to take the plunge into placing reproductions and digital/drawing hybrid art into my etsy shop. The above image is one of my "hybrid" pieces.. it was originally a drawing that I have played with digitally. I really have always enjoyed that in drawing there is a certain crudeness of the image - a mark made through the force of a human hand is organic and imperfect compared to a computer generated line. One thing I have been experimenting with over the last year is the digital image. In working with so many digital images, I have found the line to be too perfect - that organic feel was not there. I have, however, been interested in the idea of multiples and the ability to alter an image digitally. I have also been interested in so my images that have not been so "perfect" - those images that come out all fuzzy and the color off.
So, I decided to combine my drawing and digital prints. I have been taking my drawings that I had thought of as finished pieces and have been running them through changes digitally. In this piece, I have added color and changed contrasts and allowed a small amount of pixalation (hmm is that even a word?) to occur without overwhelming it. I really like how I can create something that can be held physically in my hand - and have that image changed so with each alteration it becomes less of that original idea, yet maintains the original style. This allows me to play with the idea of what is a print versus what is a reproduction.
Currently, I am in the process of adding the above image along with some others and reproductions to my store. My shop can be found at lundberg.etsy.

Things are very much off track at the moment.. my Mom is going to die very soon.. I spend my time with her at hospice and I can't get anything done. So, it will take some time, but I will eventually be able to get back to work... and this time allows me to think of new directions and I have several new ideas.. I just don't have the time or energy to do them at the moment. But, when she is gone I know she would want me to get back to work asap.. and I will- just as soon as I can get back on track.

I am getting more and more well.. for a while there I was thinking I was going to fall over dead - I had not been so sick since.. well forever I guess. So I am germ free(ish) and I went in the studio today for the first time in forever.. this is a pic from a work in progress.. part of project fifty-two. I am leaving a large amount of negative space on these drawings.. in fact, I am really into absence these days.

I haven't been making much - well nothing this week cuz I am sick. Not only sick, but uninsured. I have a massive eye infection that I thought was pink eye (a dreaded thing, I had always been afraid of getting, but never had gotten) - but I am rather sure it is some mysterious and exotic eye disease and any moment my right eye will fall from its socket into my chicken noodle soup- causing me great pain and a future dislike of chicken noodle soup. But, the reality is that my eye is massively painful and without insurance there is not much I can do except hope one of these days it will stop looking like I was punched in the face. Until that day, I cannot touch my pencils as I do not want to infect them with this dreaded disease - and I must keep out of the studio for it is a sacred place. And most importantly, I will remember how much pain and stress this is causing me when I go to the polls......
p.s. Although I have photographic evidence of my intense eye sickness, I will not add it to the blog - it is too traumatic and not for the faint of heart..... I shall think only of you by not adding such terror to the Internet. (But I see it most definitely as a subject matter ......)

see, I have been thinking a lot about identity and how on the Internet it is so easy to recreate yourself. So, I took various aspects of my own work that I have seen emerging over the last year and those things that have remained constant and decided to put them into their own identities. for instance, I have been working on walking trailers and cabins so it only felt right to create someone named Lee Greene who specializes in them.

anyway, I have created the identities and made mail art in each of their 'styles' with an address on the back of each to reference to their blog. The idea that part of the work resides online and in the form of a blog is something I am just now working with and will see how it goes. I got the idea from a show I was in recently that was solely based on the Internet. The piece I had in the show was an actual painting, but the actual painting was never shown - simply an image of it. This was especially interesting since at the opening there were multiple large screens projecting the work without any physical work being present.
so then there is the mail art aspect of the show. Since leaving Memphis, i have moved 3 times and 2 out of the 3 places where tiny 1 room deals.. the physical space I have had to work in over the last year or 2 has caused me to think small in my work. I had been doing mail art for some time now, and keeping in mind the place I was showing, mail art seemed the perfect thing. I must say also there is a personal connection as well since my father has worked at the post office for 34? years now and used to tell me about postcards he would see going through the machines.
Ok, just wanted to clarify why I make so many blogs and oh, by the way, if you are in Memphis check out the show it runs through September and i am still mailing work.. so it will be changing.

ughh.. I am sooo tired. I worked on 27 drawings today - projected photos for the projectfifty-two (see my other blog on this via my profile if you are not familiar) I am also hunting for better lighting to photograph my drawings for the 100 I am working on for the meet me in may.. and of course the mail art - well, i did not work on that today - but i did think about it.

I also spent time removing pencils from Jillian Jones Appalachian Highway Dog's mouth. freaking dog loves the taste of ebony pencils. i don't let her in the studio, but i do draw a lot in bed and well, pretty much all over .. so she hangs around and scouts the pencil collection.... she also steals kneaded erasers and I sometimes find her flinging them in the air in some odd game she plays. I dunno, maybe she just wants to draw....

When I graderated, I had to put all of my thesis work in storage - thinking that I would be able to get it in a month or two after buying a home. well... things never really worked out that way.. I wasn't able to get the work out until 2 years later (and I never did get the house). So, then I got it out.. worked forever getting settled and then the stupid flooding happened- and happened again.. and for the last few months my work has been stacked in the garage till I could get the studio fixed. Finally, I am getting things together, but there is too little room! I am constantly making something new, yet I have too much of the work from my thesis. ugh. I have decided to try my hardest to home much of it and have placed it online in my etsy shop.
It is so funny how I think some of the art is so "old" and already been seen - yet no one aside from those at the show(s) has seen it... weird how I sometimes feel like my art is like cake - expiring and molding over time - but the truth is art is more like plastic fruit.

So I am sitting here with 8 windows open working on 6 different things, a pile of drawings to my right, a pile of undrawn on paper to my left and a large stack of Pepsi cans surrounding me like a fort. I am working on many drawings and also working on cleaning out old ones from the studio at the same time.. this is great to do for anyone with attention problems.

and the whole time I am working on this, I am thinking of how I was suppossed to be in Memphis right now - but I couldn't afford the stupid gas to get there.

soooooo last week in the midst of bad weather (including tornadoes) I noticed a small lake was forming in my home... a small lake that flowed right on into the studio. My family has owned this home for 25 years and never has it been like this. I have made no art in the last week - I have spent my time scooping water, bleaching floors, moving things to safety, tossing damaged things, and ripping up the entire floor. Fun. I had to toss out some old paintings (apparently the water was a critic and picked the old - bad paintings so it is ok), but the drawings I had to toss out were painful. I had an entire series I had to throw out. My studio is in a lower level and in a place that had always been safe - even in the 93 flood. But, this rain has just been too much and the entire neighborhood - city - state - region has been affected.. and will continue to be... so anyway, I am sure I will soon be painting flood and storm related work.. but it wont be for a bit. Right now I spend my time patching, bleaching, and keeping watch whenever it rains - my only weapon a 2 gallon shopvac and a large stack of beach towels. I can't wait to get back to work. I will post when I do. Until then, I can only hope things stay dry and that all of the people in the Midwest who are flooding and will be flooding stay safe.

I have been working on soft sculpture monsters.. I don't have any pics yet,, but is one of my new obsessions. I am not a sewer either.. I have stabbed my fingers many times.
I was suppossed to have a show.. but I got all my work there and then it turns out they are doing construction in the building and were planning on putting a hole in the gallery wall.. so I packed up my things and no show. I have been in a bad mood because if it .... I have been taking out my wrath on my blogs... by ignoring them. anyway, I haven't wanted to paint or draw recently - I am digging the material. I wish I knew how to weld. I am such an idiot cuz I could have learned in Memphis.. if I knew how to weld.. I could be welding right now.
I did an interview for a blogger. I am not good at interviews,, I have done a few - I think I come off as a big dork..I keep thinking I will get better at them - maybe when Time interviews me I will be better at it.

I have worked in far too many cubicles in my life. I believe the biggest thing lacking in cubicles today is art. People in cubicles are hard working people - they are intelligent people - cubicle people need amazing art on their desks. Why save the best art for large corporate collections, museums, or the homes of the rich. Now is the time to rise up cubicle workers - rise up and place art on your desks - cubicle art.

so... anyway, I have been working on art made especially for the cubicle...that is one of the various things I have been doing...

I have been doing several small drawings due to my limitations in my studio space. I would love to fill a room with them - top to bottom with the drawings escaping from the paper.... I had some great images of an installation I had done like this - but my computer ate them - and apparently the back up disc as well. verrryyy bad. So I am working on creating some installation images on my bathroom door etc. at home so i have examples to send out to galleries - fingers crossed this works out.

ok so I have just completed some mail art for some fellow etsians. I hope to mail in the next day or two (after spraying and affixing fancy superhero stamps). I can't wait to see what I get back. I love mail art.

I did a lot of this type of thing over the last year, drawing - cutting - fixing to boards. hmmm I wish I could do this on a 6' canvas. I wish I had a place to work on a 6' canvas. that would be awesome.
I also found some designer purses at the goodwill a while back - I hope to begin painting monsters on them soon.

Welcome to my newest blog... I am dedicating this blog to my art - art projects I work on and work I am posting online. I have several pieces available - and I will be updating this site with images of my various works in progress soon.

Currently I am working on about 5 drawings - all surrealist in nature, as well as my projectfifty-two pieces. (if you are unaware of that project - you can look under my profile and link to it) I am very excited about one in particular that I started this week.. I hope to get pics on here soon. I also am in the midst of about 4 paintings. I hope to finish them soon - but having to sleep in the same room as I work with no real easel or table makes it frustrating at times - but I will finish them ...hmm maybe I'll do some art about my living conditions - that is a series all in its own ... ha ha.

O.K. keep checking back...I'll have plenty of work to show and hopefully plenty of sales on etsy to brag about....
